This class will cover the basics of plan reviewing a fire alarm system to include. System Requirements, Requirements for Drawings, Battery Calculations, Circuit Calculations, Initiating Devices, Notification Devices, Special Devices, Disconnect Switch, Special Requirements, and monitoring
Fire Alarm: Myths, Misunderstandings, & Missed Opportunities - 2 hrs.
This course will cover the following:
- Fire Alarm Panel tags
- UL requirements
- Who doesn’t need a FASA card?
- Addressable systems, a requirement?
- Backflow monitoring
- Workmanship is a code issue
- Protecting the Circuits
- Initiating device compatibility
- Booster panel connection
- Dedicated Function System
- Manufacturers Published Instructions equal code?
Danny Harrod will be conducting two classes (Fire Alarm Plan Review & Fire Alarm Myths, Misconceptions, and Missed Opportunities) on 1/7/2025 at Orlando's City Hall, located at 400 S. Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801. The first class will be from 8:00am - 10:00 am and the second class will be from 10:30am - 12:30 pm.
The parking for the event will be at the City Commons Parking Garage, located at 460 Boone Ave, Orlando, FL 32801. Please note that parking will be validated.
When parking in the City Commons Parking Garage, located at 460 Boone Ave, Orlando, FL 32801, please use the pedestrian walkway located on the 3rd floor of the parking garage. This walkway will lead you to the 2nd floor of the City Hall Building (follow the signs to City Hall) where you can check in with security. After checking in, follow the signs to the Veterans Room, which is located on the same floor.
