Fire Safety Inspector and Fire Service Instructors)

Ag Buildings and Fire Prevention: 2hr.
Ag exempt buildings and agri-tourism operations have become a growing concern for fire prevention officials. This 2-hour course discusses how to identify ag exempt buildings and agri-tourism operations. It discusses the different exemptions and allowances as present by Florida State Statutes and the Florida Administrative Code. At the end of the session, students will have a better understanding of the role fire prevention plays in these operations.

Fire Prevention Legislative Updates: 1 hr.
The course prevents an overview of fire and life safety legislation currently being considered in the State of Florida.

Instructor: Division Chief / Fire Marshal John Adler
Division Chief Adler is a 27-year veteran of the Fire Service. Starting at age 17 as a Fire Rescue Explorer, he has held several top positions including Deputy Fire Chief (Hardee County Fire Rescue), Captain of New Construction (Polk County Fire Rescue), and currently Division Chief / Fire Marshal (Alachua County Fire Rescue). He currently holds dual designations from the Center for Public Safety Excellence as a Chief Fire Officer and Fire Marshal. A strong supporter of continuing education in the fire service, he believes that adding “more tools to the toolbox” enhances the working experience of those in the fire service.

Cost: Free for members of the FFMIA
