Fire Alarm Monitoring Technologies
(1 Contact Hour approved for Fire Code Administrator, Fire Safety Inspector and Instructor I, II, III)
Discussion and Presentation of all fire alarm communication methods available. Course consists of reviewing NFPA 72 codes and standards and discussion of historical industry standards of copper, analog telephone lines. The course outlines the telephone industry changes to digital, voice over internet telephone communication and its difficulties with DACTs meeting the speed transmission increase. Industry has evolved to include several wireless, supervised communicators from IP, Cellular, and RF Private Radio Systems. In discussion and presentation of all methods, presenter provides benefits and negatives to utilizing each technology. Date: May 9, 2018
